What maintenance jobs do you do immediately after buying a Japanese import?
Buying a Japanese import is always exciting, but I’ve learned that it’s worth spending a little time on maintenance before putting a lot of miles on it. Even if the vehicle seems to be in excellent condition, you never know exactly when certain service items were last replaced.
For anyone who regularly buys cars from Japan, what are the first maintenance jobs you tackle? Here's my usual checklist:
Change the engine oil and oil filter.
Replace the air filter and cabin filter.
Inspect or replace the coolant if the service history is unclear.
Check the transmission fluid, brake fluid, and power steering fluid.
